Senator the Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Climate Change and Water (video address) |
Penny Wong has been the Minister for Climate Change and Water since December 2007 and she has personally attended the last two Convention of the Parties (COP) meetings for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) where nations are striving to reach an agreement on the response to climate change. She was elected to the Senate for South Australia in 2001 and in opposition she was Shadow Minister for Coporate Governance and Responsibility and Employment and Workforce participation. In addition to her parliamentary role she has been a member of the Human Rights Committee, and founding member of Celebrating Diversity Coalition. Senator Wong is a qualified barrister and solicitor. |

Louise Hand, Ambassador for Climate Change, Department for Climate Change |
Ms Hand is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Prior to her appointment as Ambassador for Climate Change in 2009 she was Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy, Jakarta (2005 to 2009). Ms Hand has served overseas as Ambassador to Cambodia (2000 to 2003), and has had postings to Geneva (1995 to 1998) and Vienna (1986 to 1989). In Canberra, Ms Hand has held the positions of Assistant Secretary, Arms Control Branch (1999 to 2000), and Director, Ministerial and Executive Liaison Section (1999). Ms Hand holds a Bachelor of Arts and Masters Qualifying degree from the University of Queensland and an MBA from Deakin University. In January 2009, she was awarded a Public Service Medal for her work in Indonesia. |

Professor Stuart White is Director of the Institute for Sustainable Futures where he leads a team of researchers who create change towards sustainable futures through independent, project-based research. With over twenty years experience in sustainability research, Professor White’s work focuses on achieving sustainability outcomes at least cost for a range of government, industry and community clients across Australia and internationally. This includes both the design and evaluation of programs for improving resource use efficiency and an assessment of their impact. Professor White has written and presented widely on sustainable futures and is a regular commentator on sustainability issues in the media. |

Patrick Woods, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Resources), The University of Technology, Sydney, is accountable for financial services, commercial services and facilities management He is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective use of the resources of the University to achieve its key strategic priorities of Teaching and Learning, Research, Student Focus and Community Engagement. Patrick has strong leadership experience, and a very good understanding of the higher education sector, having spent three years as Director - Financial Operations and Systems at the University of Sydney. Patrick has an MBA from McMaster University in Canada. |

Liza currently leads PricewaterhouseCoopers Sustainability and Climate Change services in Australia. Over the past 10 years, Liza has led sustainability and climate change professional services teams covering a wide range of advisory and assurance projects in the areas of sustainability, climate change, and health, safety and environmental risk management. This included seven years with a global engineering firm where she led a team of environmental professionals providing greenhouse gas emissions risk management, energy efficiency, renewable energy and corporate environmental management advice. |
